A zero-export device, also known as a zero export controller, prevents excess solar energy from being sent back to the grid. Instead, the device directs the energy to power the local load.
Monitors power: The device monitors the active power from the net meter.
Adjusts inverter power: The device compares the active power to the set points. If the active power is above the maximum set point, the device increases the power on the inverters. If the active power is below the minimum set point, the device decreases the power on the inverters.
Limits voltage and current: The device monitors and limits the voltage and current to match the load requirements. Generates energy: The inverter generates the same amount of energy as or less than the load.
Generates energy: The inverter generates the same amount of energy as or less than the load.
